Legendary Sonoma Valley estate founded in 1953 by Ambassador James D. Zellerbach, producing world-class Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon from their historic hillside vineyards.
About the Producer
Ambassador James D. Zellerbach founded Hanzell Vineyards in 1953 with a bold vision: to create California wines capable of competing on the world stage. Named after his wife Hana, the estate sits at the southern toe of the Mayacamas mountain range, overlooking the southwestern end of Sonoma Valley. Hanzell is celebrated as a pioneer of California fine wine, introducing French oak barrel aging and temperature-controlled fermentation to the state. Today the estate continues producing estate-grown Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon of extraordinary depth and ageability.
